SRS - Substance Abuse Professional Referral Services

THE SAP PROCESS

To qualify as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) provider for SAP Referral Services, you must meet one of the following licensing requirements:

Licensed Physician (Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy)

Licensed or certified Social Worker

Licensed or certified Marriage and Family Therapist

Licensed or certified Psychologist

Licensed or certified Employee Assistance Professional

Drug and Alcohol Counselor certified by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors Certification Commission (NAADAC), by the International Certification Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and other Drug Abuse (ICRC) or by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC)

In order to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated evaluations you must be knowledgeable about and have clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of alcohol and controlled substance related disorders. By December 31, 2003, you must also retain "DOT Qualification Training & Testing" certificates.

In order to perform DWI/DUI related evaluations you must be knowledgeable about and have clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of alcohol and controlled substance related disorders.

Upon receipt of a complete "Network Enrollment" package and verification of all credentials, SAP Referral Services will begin referring clients in need of SAP evaluations.
